Random thoughts, confessions, and rants

- When I need a fix, chocolate is my drug of choice. If it's not on hand, a spoonful of peanut butter with chocolate-covered sprinkles will suffice. (Plain sprinkles just doesn't do it for me.)

- I cannot go to the bathroom without a book.

- I hate laundry. And if I don't get it washed, folded, and put away in one day, the clean clothes will stay - wrinkled - in the basket until the next laundry day.

- My last sewing machine needle recently broke. I bought three new ones at the local sewing store, only to find that they don't fit my machine. They are all Singer needles for my Singer machine. I am in the middle of a quilt and I CAN'T FINISH IT FOR THE STUPIDEST REASON IN THE WORLD!!! (*&#%#^%)(#&$%()#*&%(*#&%(*)&#(*)%&(#)&%

- I get a little touchy when I can't finish a project.

- I love to read the same books over and over. And over. And over. I have read Harry Potter 3-7 more than twenty times, easy. Each.

- Is that sad, or what?

- My son Nathan tells me he loves me at least fifty times a day. And that he misses me when I'm gone. And that he's glad I came back. Some day I will actually mark on a piece of paper how many times a day he validates me.

- My son Nathan's favorite two songs in the world are "Dueling Banjos" and U2's "Elevation." Go figure.

- I love "chinelos," or Brazilian flip-flops. This also means that I have the grossest man-feet ever. My heels - ew.

- I am fanatic about spots on the walls and floor. With two little 'uns, this translates to mean that I'm insane most of the time.

- I want so many different degrees and qualifications that I wonder if I'll ever really get around to it. Sometimes - just SOMETIMES! - I wish we had gotten our Masters degrees instead of coming to Brazil. But only when I think about the fact that I'll probably be 40 before I can go to school again. (Sigh ... if we had gone with the original plan, we would have graduated two years ago ...)

- Let's be honest, I NEVER think about it.

- I suffer from extreme not-thinking-I'm-good-enough-at [fill in role here - wife, mom, YW prez, camp leader, friend, sister, etc.]

- I have a problem asking for favors from people - especially non-family people.

- I make a wicked apple pie.

That's it.

Dueling Banjos and Elevation?! Great tunes but... WOW. Maybe it's all those crazy Brasilians? And I'm so sorry for the annoying needle biz - I hate when there is one silly stupid thing irking me and stopping me from the finish line! I like thinking that I'm the princess from the Princess and the Pea story - all black and blue from that one stupid pea:)

Laundry doesn't bother me as much. I almost enjoy folding it. (I make Peiwen put it away most of the time, though. ^^;;;) I can't do my dishes. No dishwasher? No doing dishes for me. S'r'sly.
